Conference: New Horizons in Hearing and Seeing 2018 (Day 1)
New Horizons 2018
The international symposium "New Horizons in Visual and Hearing Research" (5–7 March, 2018) is intended to provide an intensive, interdisciplinary and internationally oriented scientific discussion on current trends in neurosensory research. The invited experts will present direction-oriented new therapeutic approaches and demonstrate their implementation. New approaches from bench to bedside are to be discussed.
In total 150 participants are planned at this interdisciplinary symposium. 30% of the internationally renowned speakers come from outside Europe (USA, Australia, Canada), 49% from Europe (France, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Belgium) and 21% from Germany. The female proportion of invited speakers is 29%. Among the participants, a quota of 40% woman is aimed for.
A special emphasis will be on the participation of doctoral students and postdoctoral staff from the Center for Neurosensory Systems and the various Graduate Schools. In the exchange with international leaders of the field, we hope for a motivation thrust of our graduates. In addition, we believe that, with this research symposium, which has already received preliminary commitments from all the speakers mentioned, we are able to make an important, scientifically high-ranking contribution to interdisciplinary neurosensory research, both nationally and internationally.
